Refers to one who has acquired some level of expertise in the preparation of espresso-based coffee drinks. We endeavor to expand its meaning to include what might be called a "coffee sommelier"; a professional who is highly skilled in coffee preparation with a comprehensive understanding of coffee, coffee blends, espresso, quality, coffee varieties, roast degree, espresso equipment and its basic maintenance, latte art and "best practices" latte bar operation.
We maintain a fully equipped Barista Training Center at our Williamsburg Roasting Facility. Customers who purchase 10 or more pounds of espresso from The Williamsburg Coffee & Tea Company per month have a standing invitation to our B.Y.O.M. Barista Training Center. We have created an environment where you can train, experiment, create and invent free from the pressures of customers and cost of goods sold. You bring the milk and we'll provide the equipment, espresso, coffee, syrup, sauce, chai, tea, smoothies and frappes. There is no charge; however, reservations are required.
